"Bayo naton ini, aton ini."


When we wear our traditional wear, we donโ€™t just embody ethnic style but our cultural heritage as well. The Capiztahan indulged its vibrant culture and tradition by showcasing the jaw-dropping talents of distinct municipalities in the province of Capiz and the City of Roxas functioning jointly with Capiz Provincial Government Communications Group to oversee the Capiztahan Festival.

The head of Capiz Provincial Tourism and Cultural Affairs Office, Mr. Alfonso Teroso officially confirmed the opening program of the Capiztahan Festival last April 15 anchored to the 123rd founding anniversary of the Province and commemorates the death anniversary of former President Manuel Roxas.

Aligned with the celebration is the Tagbuanay sang Maragtas, Seafood Festival "Surambaw", Maragtas sang Capisnon Historical Parade, Saot Capiz- Folk Dance competition, Bugal sang Capiz, and the Maragtas sang Capisnon Costume Exhibit.

The synchronized dance movements and harmonious beat of the music of distinct festivals exhibit not only its reach culture that is seen through the sleeves, "Palda," "Kamisita chino," "Panapton," "Takorong," "Panyo," "Delรกrgo," "Bahรกg," "Alampay," and "Patadyong." But it also highlights the major Capisnon Custome the "Traje de Mestiza."ย  The textiles used for the costumes are well crafted and undeniably signify true-blooded Capisnon.

The hailed exhibit will last for 3 weeks. It began last April 11 and will end on the 1st of May, 2024.ย  Where 12 participating local Government Units stun not only the eyes and hearts of Capizeรฑos but also capture the souls of national and international visitors as they explore the wonders of the Capiztahan Festival.

ย "Buyluganay" of Ivisan, "Inilusan" ofย  Mambusao, "Pangahaw" of Jamindan, "Lingga-anay" of Panay, "Sinadya" of Tapaz, "Pasalamat" of Dao, "Hinugway" of Cuartero, "Hil-o anay" of Sigma, "Tilibyugan" of Sapian, "Guyom-guyoman" of Pontevedra, "Pagpasidungog" of Panit-an, "Hil -o Hil-o" of Maayon, "Padayao" of Dumarao, "Dinagsa" of Dumalag, "Tagbuan" of Pilar and "Sinadya sa Halaran" of President Roxas.

Adhered at SM City Roxas on Arnaldo Boulevard and Robinsons Roxas, Pueblo de Panay on Lawaan, Roxas City. Unique patterns and ensembles of traditional costumes of dances in the Sea Food Capital of the Philippines were displayed.ย  Glanced it for yourself from 9:00 am-9:00 pm as we travel back in time when our ancestors truly admired the captivating look and representation of our Capisnon attire.
