The Bachelor of Industrial Technology (BIT) athletes crashed other departments to defeat in the recently concluded sports events of Capiz State University (CapSU) Roxas City Main Campus' Intramural Meet 2023 with a whopping 24 medal tally.
Establishing their power early, the BIT volleyball men’s team spiked their first gold against the College of Education (CoEd) team with a 3-1 victory on the first day, while the College of Engineering, Architecture, and Technology (CEAT) volleyball women’s team blocked the CoEd players for gold.
The BIT department went on a gold rush on the 2nd day as their men’s and women’s basketball teams slam-dunked to victory in a fierce exchange against both men and women teams of the CEAT department, scoring 76-45 and 35-17 victories, respectively.
Continuing their feat, BIT drowns all departments across 6 different swimming categories, diving a total of 8 golds, 4 silvers, and 2 bronzes.
Futsal men and women categories proved the department's power, as both their teams kicked the COED's women’s team and CEAT's men to the ground, earning the championship titles as well.
In other events, CEAT's men and women chess players outwit other departments' bets for gold, while the CoEd men and women sepak takraw contenders leave opponents to eat dust in back-to-back victories.
Overall, the BIT department athletes earned 13 gold, 7 silver, and 8 bronze, coming in first in the tally, while CoEd, placing second, won 7 gold, 9 silver, and 7 bronze.
The CEAT athletes came in third in the tally with 5 golds, 6 silvers, and 4 bronzes, while the College of Management (CM) placed fourth, garnering 5 silvers and 6 bronzes, and the Laboratory High School athletes took the 5th spot, bagging 3 bronze medals.
