College of Education (CoEd) and College of Management (CM) bagged the crowns as Capiz State University Roxas City-Main Campus held face-to-face Mr. and Ms. CAPSU at Dadivas Gymnasium on October 26, 2022.
The program kicked off with a speech by Dr. Eimee Potato, Office of Student Affairs (OSA) Chairperson in which she emphasized the importance of the event to showcase the potential of CAPSUnians. The stage was then taken over by CAPSU Circle of PEHM and MAPEH with their introductory dance number.
Out of 16 candidates, Joshua D. Dorado (CoEd) and Joana Zinna Alasaas (CM) were crowned as Mr. and Ms. CAPSU 2022. Aeron Simon Aguil (CM) and Mary Rose Antonino (CM) as the 1st Runners-up and Paul Niño Deondo (CEA) and Trisha Ann Magdaong (CoEd) as the 2nd Runners-up.
Among those who received minor awards are Mary Rose Antonino (CM) for best in production number for the female category and Aeron Simon Aguil (CM) for male category. For best in swimwear, Trisha Ann Magdaong (CoEd) and Aeron Simon Aguil (CM). For best in formal wear Joana Zinna Alasaas (CM) and Aeron Simon Aguip (CM). Lastly, for best in interview Joana Zinna Alasaas (CM) and Joshua Dorado (CoEd).
"I'm a dreamer at heart, and being crowned as Miss CAPSU 2022 was the manifestation of that. Being called on stage and hearing the crowd erupt in applause feels surreal. Finally, my efforts and prayers weren't in vain. I'd also like to thank the people who are part of this success. The collective effort and encouragement of these people drove me to this triumphant moment." Joana Zinna Alasaas said.
The reigning Mr. and Ms. CAPSU 2019 Queenstant Dianne Jean Banico and John Ryan Zacarias Isiderio graced the stage after two years because of the pandemic. In their speeches, they concluded their long reign and put their faith in the newly crowned ones.
The event also carried out the awarding for the winners of the different sports competitions held during the three-day Intramural Meet 2022.
