CoEd Student Interns attend Lighting and Pinning Ceremony

By Brian Howell Bellosillo

In their pursuit to become exemplary educators, the student interns of Capiz State University (CapSU) Main Campus, College of Education Department, attended the 2nd Pre-Service Teachers' Lighting and Pinning Ceremony at the university’s Dadivas Gym on Tuesday, January 30.

The program began with a processional of students together with their parents and CoEd faculty and staff with key officials, followed by the welcome remarks from Dr. Susan O. Dangan, CapSU Vice President for Academic Affairs.

Bringing a truthful message, the guest speaker, Dr. Eva B. Fabraquel, Public Schools District Supervisor of DepEd-Roxas City Division, foretold the challenges that may arise in the pre-service experience of the interns.

The student interns then marched to the stage with their parents for the official pinning, orchestrated by the CoEd key officials, which was followed by the candle-lighting ceremony.

To conclude the event, the Supreme Student Council (SSC)-CoEd Governor and BSEd-Science student, Ervi Kile Bulquerin, led the Pledge of Student Interns and ended it with closing remarks from the Dean of CoEd, Dr. Hazel D. Joaquin.

The Pre-Service Teachers' Pinning and Lighting Ceremony of CapSU Main-CoEd started in 2023, and it aims to prepare the student interns before being deployed to their respective secondary schools, where they will be gaining their pre-service teaching experience.
