Students from the College of Management (CM) of Capiz State University (CapSU)-Main Campus procured awards during the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Cashless Expo 2023, held at the World Trade Center, Pasay City, on Friday, November 17.
Coached and accompanied by Prof. Donna J. Dividina, a CapSU-Main Campus faculty member, Merelle Nicole Olaso, Lovely Bascos, Jeremiah Dajay, and Jan Mariel Bañga, sophomores taking up the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) major in Marketing Management, were the students who represented the university in the said national exposition.
"The event showcases different products of innovation, the legacy of their land, and the outcome of their hard work, perseverance, and resilience, which made me uphold something greater than what I was visualizing before as a marketing student. With the advanced preparation we had, I and the team told ourselves that we have to pour every bit of knowledge, tactics, and skills we possess into creating an innovative result," Olaso expressed.
The awards that they procured during the competition were the Most Innovative (Champion), Best Presentation (Top 3 Finalist), and Overall Champion (Top 10 Finalist).
"I was already grateful for having the opportunity to participate in such a big event. So, receiving the awards—I don't think words are enough to describe how thankful I am. It was an honor to represent the school and to be able to work with amazing people. Working with the team was very enjoyable. We got to witness each other's strengths and create a connection with each other. I still thank God for this, and I will continue to do so," Bañga gratefully conveyed.
The competition, which was spearheaded by Go Digital Pilipinas (GDP) in collaboration with the Department of Agriculture (DA), Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), and DTI, was the nation's first Agri Fair and Trade Fair. Its goal was to encourage MSMEs, or micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises, to switch to digital payment methods.
