Paolo Roxas Konek, a free WiFi initiative for students by Paolo Z. Roxas, was officially launched at Capiz State University Main Campus on Jan. 27.
The unveiling, held at the Dadivas Gymnasium, was spearheaded by Mr. Roxas, who introduced the project to provide students and faculty with access to reliable internet for enhanced learning and connectivity.
The program began with a message from Dr. Mary Ann B. Martelino, Vice President for Administration and Finance, representing Engr. Efren L. Linan, Ph.D., SUC President III. Hon. Ronnie T. Dadivas, Mayor of Roxas City, and Hon. Fredenil H. Castro, Governor of Capiz, also addressed the audience, emphasizing the vital role of internet access in modern education and personal growth.
In his speech, Mr. Roxas explained the purpose of the initiative and its importance to the university community. "Nalipay ako kay subong nga adlaw, tanan sa inyo maka-connect sa internet. Magamit ninyo ang libre nga internet," he said. He added, "Ang handom ko, makabaton kamo sang maayo nga oportunidad, sa edukasyon kag sa trabaho."
On behalf of the student body, Mr. Jerrold Delatorre, Supreme Student Council President, expressed collective gratitude. "Nagapasalamat gid kami nga mga estudyante sang Capiz State University-Main Campus sa pagdonar mo sang Free WiFi sa amon. Ang ini nga donasyon dako gid nga impact sa amon pagtuon," he said.
With Paolo Roxas Konek now operational, CapSU is moving toward a more connected and digitally advanced campus. This initiative highlights the university’s commitment to equipping its community with the necessary tools to succeed in an increasingly digital world.
