The Supreme Student Council (SSC) of Capiz State University (CapSU) - Main Campus spearheaded a two-day leadership training activity for captains and SSC Local Sub-Chapter officers on September 15-16, 2023, at the university's Dadivas Gymnasium.
The said leadership training aims to uphold and accomplish the Supreme Student Council's goal of establishing an environment and opportunities that will help students develop to their fullest potential.
Dr. Eimee D. Potato, SAS Chairperson; Anthony D. Lopez, Former SSC President; Kristine B. Sauler, Guidance Counselor; Ervi Kile B. Bulquerin, Student Regent; and Prof. Klenn Mark Mayo were on hand to serve as speakers, who took a substantial part in stimulating and encouraging participants, as well as delivering relevant information and their expertise.
The first day commenced with a talk in which Mr. Lopez addressed different kinds of leaders; Dr. Potato discussed different kinds of leadership styles; Ms. Sauler talked about SGD Towards Transformative and Proactive Leadership; Prof. Mayo shared his success story of becoming a licensed professional teacher; and "Transforming the CapSUnians as Leadership Ambassadors” was discussed by Mr. Bulquerin.
"To the students and aspiring student leaders of Capiz State University, it is critical that you internalize the qualities of excellence and innovation. By possessing these attributes, you will significantly enhance your potential to evolve into an exceptional leader - a leader that no one ever was,” said Bulquerin.
On the second day, team building was incorporated as one of the components of leadership development.
The two-day activity will aid in developing effective leadership skills among student leaders, which may contribute to the student organizations' overall success and future leaders' development.
