Initiated by the College of Education (CoEd) Local SSC, Extension Program and Faculty & Staff, the CoEd stranded students received the Pantawid-Gutom program on October 30, 2022 at the CoEd Building.

It has been three days since the landfall of Typhoon Paeng which has greatly affected the transportation, as floods have caused unpassable highways, resulting in students being stranded at their boarding houses. With this, the CoEd Local SSC, Extension Program and Faculty & Staff decided to aid the students by preparing goods that are easy to cook and be eaten.

"The pantawid-gutom program is actually a partnership between the CoEd extension office and the SSC local sub-chapter, this program aims to give relief goods to the stranded students of CoEd due to typhoon Paeng; the relief packs consist of canned goods, noodles, coffee and other necessities. Gamay man ni nga bagay but the volunteerism behind this initiative are powerful. I want to extend my gratitude to those people behind this initiative; faculty and staff of the College of Education, donors from different sectors, SSC National headed by President Bulquerin, SSC Local Subchapter, and those who gave monetary donations. This program would not be possible without the volunteerism of these people," Louie Jay Coroz, governor of CoEd Local SSC expressed.

"I would like to express my thanks to CoEd Local SSC, Extension Program and Faculty & Staff, and to all volunteers for remembering us and giving us relief goods. They are easy to cook and can sustain us for a bit of time, since we are waiting for the flood to decrease, so we can go home", Maureen Abella, a fourth year student taking up a Bachelor of Secondary Education Major in English who received the goods.

Through the use of Messenger as a medium, the Captains of each section in the said department were tasked to find out the list of students who were stranded, thus, the program successfully aided 62 stranded CoEd students.
