Spearheaded by the Guidance and Counseling Services, Capiz State University Roxas – Main Campus checked up Capsunians through a three – day alternate programs, Virtual Kamustahan on September 30, Mental Health Forum on October 7, and Promoting Healthy Capsunians on October 14, 2022 to take a break and celebrate Mental Health.

Virtual Kamustahan was held virtually through the use of Messenger and Google Meet as a medium, wherein group chats were used as a platform to communicate and the captains of each sections were given the responsibility to facilitate their respective classmates to meet the goal of theme “Kamusta ka? Istoryahanay kita”.

On October 7, Mental Health forum continued the celebration virtually through Zoom with forum about “May Paglaom, Wala ka nagaisahanon” with Just Lynn Panaligan, RPm, Jasmin Gallaza, RN, and Ana Panganiban RGC, PhD as the speakers.

“You are not alone. We all have our struggles. But, how you respond to that emotion makes a lot of difference. One thing that the pandemic has given us is an opportunity to make sure that we don’t leave anyone left behind, or feel alone, or without any information, support, and help that they need”, Panganiban highlighted in her talk.

For the last day, Promoting Healthy Capsunians focused more on the theme of “Don’t be stressed, Let’s De-stressed” by encouraging the students to participate in the Zumba dance, Mindfulness Meditation, and Art Therapy which were held at different sites.

Zumba Dance was held at the CapSU’s Auditorium, Mindfulness Meditation at the Campus Main Library, and the Art Therapy at the Conference Room; all headed by Ms. Kristine Sauler.

With such multiple programs, one Capsunian expressed her thanks by stating, “It’s nice to experience the University’s effort on checking the mental health of their students. I hope to see more activities like this soon”.
