Roxas City - Capiz is poised for a surge in employment opportunities as Paolo spearheads Job Konek, an initiative designed to bridge local talent with leading companies in the BPO and IT sectors.
Launched officially at San Antonio Resort in Baybay, Roxas City on Jan. 31, Roxas brought together top executives, government officials, and media representatives to discuss how the province may become a major participant in the industry.
The program aims to position Roxas City as a key player in the industry, attracting major firms and opening doors for job seekers in the province.
Roxas also gathered key industry leaders, including Jack Madrid, CEO of IBPAP; Mitch Locsin, a senior executive in sales and marketing; Bong Borja, COO of Alorica Inc.; JL Botor, Country Head of World Source Philippines; and Alvin Juban, a business developer in game development and digital creative arts.
Mayor Ronnie Dadivas, and former Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Mar Roxas were also present. Speaking to the distinguished guests, Paolo Roxas emphasized Roxas City's potential as an emerging hub for BPO and IT industries.
"Roxas City produces 3,000 students per year. We have reliable internet and are the landing point of sovereign cables in Western Visayas. Our city and provincial government are eager to partner with you," he said.
Additionally, he disclosed that a few BPO companies, one of which has 1,500 seats, have already established operations in the city. However, because there aren't many job possibilities in the locality, a lot of graduates keep moving to Iloilo.
"I don’t want to preempt your decision, but I expect to have you here, and you’ll be fine here," Roxas added.
Furthermore, he visits schools to inform young students about improved work options through Job Connect, with CapSU as his first stop, where he shared the opportunity at Dadivas Gymnasium this morning.
With media and student representatives, the event aimed to bridge the gap between Capiz’s workforce and major industry players, ensuring that more students find career opportunities closer to home.
