The Capiz State University community unites in prayer in the virtual conduct of the Mass of the Holy Spirit on October 30, 2020. The mass was led by the Archbishop of Capiz, His eminence, Cardinal-elect Jose F. Advincula, Jr., D.D. at the Archbishop’s palace, Lawaan, Roxas City.
“The CapSU community asked for the intercession of the Holy Spirit to shower all the gifts of the Spirit in this new normal approach for this SY 2020-2021. May God continue to bless CapSU in giving quality service to all”, says Prof. Jay Lord B. Asis, adviser of the CapSU Main Supreme Student Council.
“We invoke the Holy Spirit to imbue us His bountiful fruits and gifts in becoming more God-centered individuals/community”, says Rev. Fr. Arthur Adricula, Jr., University Chaplain, when asked why this mass was organized.
Six concelebrating priests from the Archdiocese of Capiz joined the CapSU community in this tradition of prayer and thanksgiving. The Capiz Archdiocesan Social Action Center (CASAC) also gave technical assistance to make this event a success.
This event was facilitated by the CapSU Main Supreme Student Council, Office of the Student Affairs and supported by the Central Administration, faculty, staff and private individuals. Like all social and religious gathering, the mass was held online to prevent the spread of COVID-19. All minimum safety protocols were observed prior, during and after the mass. This mass is the second in the ongoing CapSU tradition of seeking divine guidance for the new school year, especially during this time of pandemic. This is also the first mass conducted by the archbishop of Capiz since the announcement of his elevation as Cardinal.
