CapSU-Main offers Tribute to CMC

To formally offer recognition and commendation to the victories brought by the CapSU-Main Chorale (CMC) to the university, Capiz State University-Main Campus held Pagpasidungog: Recognizing Capsunian Achievers at Dadivas Gymnasium, July 19, Wednesday.


Recently, CMC competed and nailed the World Choir Games (WCG) 2023 held at Gangneung, South Korea. In the said competition, CMC bagged the prestigious awards— the Golden Diploma Level 4 in Acapella Category under the baton of Professor Vivian Apuang, and the Silver Diploma Level 7 in College/University Choir Category 5 under the direction of Professor Mico Lauron.


The Pagpasidungog was comprise of two parts, wherein the first part commenced with the Thanksgiving Mass with Msgr. Regie Pamposa, and the second part kicked off with the singing of Pambansang Awit and Capiz Hymn led by the CMC.

"A winner never quits. CapSU never quits", Dr. Ma. Dorothee J. Villarruz, Campus Administrator, proudly expressed in her welcome remarks.


It was then followed by the messages conveyed by Dr. Editha C. Alfon, SUC President III, and Hon. Ronnie T. Dadivas, Roxas City Mayor.


As the highlight of the event, CMC graced the stage and brought harmony to the audience through an intermission number as they performed their award-winning performance in WCG 2023.


It is then followed by the awarding of certificates and recognition to the WCG performers and delegates, as well as to the sponsors, partner agencies, and institutions; words of gratitude by Prof. Apuang and Ms. Julia Cadaing, and Dr. Susan O. Dangan, VP of Academic Affairs, closing remarks.


The program was attended by the key officals, faculty and staff, and students of CapSU-Main, the key officials of the City and Provincial Government, and family members of the CMC performers.
