Capiz – Planting ‘one million trees in one day’ was the goal of Capiz Provincial Government in partnership with Capiz Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (CAPENRO) by uniting Capiznons, including the CapSU community, in planting a million of seedlings in the entire province of Capiz last June 25.
With the desire to help restore the environment, to lessen harm due to climate change, and to remain healthy and green as a place to dwell, Capiz Provincial government made it possible to invite all the government sectors in the entire province to participate in the tree planting event.
In Roxas City, Capiz State University, Main Campus participants, students, teaching and non – teaching employees, hiked through Dayao River connecting Westlake Subdivision and Dayao Campus to plant seedlings of mangroves and other species of trees.
“Pagtugsok sang tanum sa malabno kag madanlog nga duta, kadiri, pero enjoy gid ya bala a. Kabay nga magtubo ang mangroov nga ini soonest!” happily said by a student who participated in the event.
The University was delighted to participate in this phenomenal earth saving event and looking forward for another laudable endeavor in the years to come.
