Promoting awareness on gender to CapSU faculty, the Office of Gender and Development (GAD) spearheaded seminar on gender sensitivity on July 29, at Main Campus Dadivas Auditorium.
GAD is concerned with women and her specific roles , responsibilities and expectations in the society, but, it also focuses on the principle that development is for all. Everyone in the society, female or male, has the right to equal opportunities to a full and satisfying life.
The seminar was expertly facilitated by Prof. Frederick Pablico, the resource speaker from University of Northern Philippines, Vigan City. It largely focused on gender and social construction, Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity and Expression Equality Bill (SOGIE), gender issues and gender and development.
The seminar was made to acknowledge the role of men and women in the academic environment, and was expected to influence activities of faculty, staff and students on gender awareness development all throughout the year and the years to come.
