Pagpasanyog 2023: CapSU recognizes outstanding organization and leaders

By Rodgen Diaz

As part of the annual activity to recognize and appreciate the dedication of each organization and student leader for A.Y. 2022-2023, the Office of Student Affairs of Capiz State University-Main Campus orchestrated the Pagpasanyog 2023 last June 5, 2023, at the CapSU-Main Dadivas Gym.

Dr. Dorothee J. Villaruz, Campus Administrator, formally opened the awarding event as she welcomes all the participants, "this is the day of giving recognition, appreciation, and the day how we reckon the academic and non-academic organization activity. Students, always remember that you are the greatest resource of this university” Dr. Villaruz highlighted confidently.

It was then followed by giving an inspirational message from Mr. Jonard Elumba, one of the Ten Outstanding Students of Capiz (TOSOC) 2019 and former student leader of the said university, “Your current situation is not the gauge of how far you can go. And definitely, there is no one who can determine what your future is, except for yourself. Get up and as you start working on your dreams and goals bring this lesson I have learned along the way; Make a Commitment; Keep track of your progress; Get help; Keep your eyes on the Prize; Be Consistent; and Celebrate every Success” Mr. Elumba expressed.

Another inspirational message was delivered by the Most Outstanding Student Leader 2022 and one of the Ten Outstanding Students of Capiz (TOSOC) 2022, Prof. Klenn Mark Mayo “Leadership is like education, it is a lifelong learning it is an everyday process to test your character and Leadership is not all about prestige, fame and a design to your name. It is all about accepting the key of responsibility wholeheartedly, building your community, without any hesitation, and expecting any in return.” Prof. Mayo uttered.

The awarding ceremony started by giving certificates to all accredited student organizations, it was then followed by the awarding of major categories – Best E-poster of the Year: SSC CM Local Sub-Chapter (3rd Place), SSC CEAT Local Sub-Chapter (2nd Place), and UAPSA (1st Place). The aforementioned activity was concluded by a closing remark from the Chairperson of Student Affairs and Services, Dr. Eimee D. Potato “My warmest congratulations to all our winners and to those who did not make it this year, I challenge you. You are all outstanding.” Dr. Potato delivered. “In planning for next year’s activity, include extension and research since these are two of the four functions of the University. Also, include activities for student’s welfare and holistic development” she added.

This yearly activity is a reminder to all organizations and student leaders that their achievements are the result of the combined effort of each individual or member. This only means that every member of the organization has to work together to achieve their common mission. Truly, CapSU is home of outstanding leaders, not merely globally competitive graduates.
